President Obama’s administration deported a record 2.5 million people who were in the US illegally. The Obama administration did this without theatrical ICE raids or holding people in concentration camps across the southern border. Ice raids and concentration camps are very popular tactics with Donald Trump, who has demonstrated tremendous immigration incompetence.
And let’s please remember that the numbers of people apprehended while crossing the southern border during the Trump administration are much lower than they were during the GW Bush administration, and are comparable to the numbers during the Obama administration.
According to reporting by The New Republic, “And while Trump himself said he would remove as many as possible during the 2016 election, his campaign said it would try to deport two to three million instead. The George W. Bush administration, by comparison, deported roughly two million people over his entire presidency, while Barack Obama oversaw the deportation of a record two and a half million.”
