As reported by USA Today: “The man who caused a commotion at a Donald Trump rally Saturday said he’s a registered Republican who wanted only to show his displeasure with his party’s nominee.
Members of the audience at the event for the GOP presidential nominee tackled Austyn Crites, 33, of Reno after someone yelled “gun” while others were trying to rip away his anti-Trump sign.”
Members of the Trump campaign characterized the event at the rally as an “assassination attempt” on Trump. Trump Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway clashed with CNN’s Jake Tapper over the falsehood Sunday morning on CNN’s “State of the Union” program.
Clearly, the Trump campaign will lie about anything if it helps to create a perception the campaign wants people to have.
Since the Trump campaign started, this has been its modus operandi. The previous example — before the Nov. 5 incident in Reno — was last week, when the Trump campaign used Fox News and Bret Baier to lie about FBI activity.
To the Trump campaign, truth means nothing. Creating a certain perception is the only thing that matters.
