During his recent RNC speech, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said, “When someone can’t get the job done, you have to let him go,” and his audience cheered.
The facts are these: When President Obama became president the economy was in the worst recession since the Great Depression, hundreds of thousands of jobs had been lost, each month, for many months during the GW Bush administration, and the Dow Industrial average had fallen from 14000 to about 6500 points.
During the Obama administration, the American economy has turned from contraction and recession to growth, many companies have returned to tremendous profitability, the unemployment rate is lower than it was, job creation has been steadily positive for many, many months, and the Dow Industrial Average has come up to over 13,000.
These are positive economic accomplishments that deserve to be applauded. When Condoleeza Rice said “we’re not better off than we were four years ago,” during her recent RNC speech, I wondered which country she was referring to, given facts like these.
By the way, Osama Bin Laden, one of the most dangerous terrorist masterminds of the last 20 years, was killed during the Obama administration, too.
Exactly what job has President Obama not been able to get done, candidate Romney?
