DHS Concludes Trump’s Travel/Immigration Ban Of No Value

There are three connected stories here.  All three of these stories concern the Department of Homeland Security’s  conclusion after examining all available information that the travel and immigration ban proposed by Trump provides no significant value in terms of national security.
 …..
One is that the Trump administration asked the Department of Homeland Security to prepare a report that concluded that the Trump seven-country travel and immigration ban was going to be necessary and would make an impact on national security. The Trump administration gave the Department of Homeland Security the conclusion that they wanted the Department of Homeland Security to draw at the same time they assigned the report to be prepared.
That is very very wrong. When you ask for an investigation and report to be prepared, you don’t specify the conclusions that you want to report to draw.
 …..
The second is the story originally reported by the Associated Press, which was that the Department of Homeland Security issued on Friday put out its report, but The Department of Homeland Security did not come to the conclusions that the White House specified when it asked for the report. The DHS report concluded that the Trump seven-country Muslim travel and immigration ban would not have a positive national security benefit.
 …..
This leads us to the third story, which concerns the fact that the White House spiked (rejected) the Department of Homeland Security report because the Trump administration did not like the conclusions that the DHS report drew.
 …..
However, the report was provided to the Associated Press, which enabled the AP to share the report with the people (us, the American people, for whom the Trump administration works).
 …..
This is an appalling administration.
